Whats New?

Gorillaz Video Screening : Gathered in a small studio in London’s Soho, you have to wonder what could possibly be so impressive about the new Gorillaz video that Britain’s journalists have been shepherded together for a screening. New single “On Melancholy Hill”...

David's Lyre : Masked troubadour, David's Lyre is, like his semi-hidden aesthetic, somewhat of a mystery at present. Although if fairness exists in the world at all...
Frankie & The Heartstrings : Interview : Sometimes, (not often mind), you go to see a band with a vague sense of expectation, born from nothing more than early releases and odd pieces of press, only for, by some twist of fate, this band you considered “fairly decent” until now to prove one of the...
Lunar Youth : Interview : Lunar Youth make the kind of music that makes your heart skip a beat as the emphasis on romance engulfs you in a warm flurry of emotion. It’s really rather lovely. Their nostalgic take on pop, reminiscent of the 80’s penchant for...

Wall Street Riots : 'One More Ride'

Wall Street Riots : 'One More Ride'

Released: Out Now!!!

Label: Unsigned

Before you even listen to the original of this track, stay away from any remix of it. It is not good.  However, this could be because I’m not really big on remixes (or covers, yet I have made a few exceptions).

So, Wall Street Riots. Alright name, alright band, very catchy song that will no doubt have teenagers singing along loudly in a small sweaty venue in no time. I have no idea what the band look like, but if it’s who is on the cover of the CD (it’s a cartoon drawing, it may or may not be them) then one looks like Kat Von D, one looks like the rapper Xzibit (before he cut his hair), one looks like a priest and the other is a skateboarder with a headband. Have I sold it to you yet?

Sounds like a super group of sorts really.

One More Ride is not a bad song, if anything though, it is slightly repetitive. They sound a little bit like The Academy Is… who I like a little bit.

If they are not who is on the cover of the single, then quite frankly I’ll be rather disappointed!
