Passion Pit : ‘To Kingdom Come’

Passion Pit : ‘To Kingdom Come’

Released: 24th August 2009

Label: Columbia Records

Manners’ Passion Pit’s debut album is an absolutely beautiful piece of modern indie-pop and ‘To Kingdom come’ the band’s second single is just one of many examples of why the band are sure to be set for great things in the future.

In a complete change of tune from the band’s last track ‘The Reeling’, they have slowed things down but not for the worse, and ‘To Kingdom come’ is a laid back tune full of melodic synth and a good dose of guitar.

The track is vocally sublime with the band’s falsetto voices reverberating across the cacophony of noise, as the song takes form starting off with a simple guitar riff before rearing its head as a tour de force of indie-pop. They are a thinking mans MGMT, but with far more style and tonnes more finesse.

Passion Pit are truly unique, combining the best elements of indie, pop and dance to create an intelligent sound that is not afraid to be different.
