Frankie & The Heartstrings : Interview :

Lunar Youth : ‘Misfits’
Lunar Youth : ‘Misfits’
Released: 23rd November 2009
Label: Young and Lost Club Records
Lunar Youth’s debut single ‘Misfits’ is rare and great. Simon Berlin sings whilst brother Adam drums and Peter Davies brings bass. This is Lunar Youth and they’re glorious in fact, a real gem.
‘Misfits’ is romantic, glamorous and crooning. Berlins’ vocals cascade and climb over the gravy guitars that slop and slur like they’ve just fallen out of a forgotten nightclub.
It’s beautiful and melancholic with lyrics of poetic majesty “we’re the misfits but we sit together somehow, just fine,” and the Roxy Music influences are appreciated.
As a debut, ‘Misfits’ is polished, slick and emotive and, as there are only 500 copies available on limited 7” from the release date, I urge you to grab one.
