Levi’s® OnesToWatch® settles in at The Hoxton Bar & Kitchen and Cargo in London’s east end with a 5 Night Revue of the highest order. Celebrating the latest and greatest from a plethora of music genres, featuring electronica to folk and everything in between, this week-long shindig (16-20 November) promises to entertain, inspire and surprise.

Each night has been lovingly curated with handpicked artists who represent the best in new and emerging talent from a dynamic musical spectrum. The roll call includes an exclusive first solo show from Andrew Davie of Cherbourg on folk inspired Monday, Basque-dance prodigies Crystal Fighters, and a much anticipated performance from much hyped Marina & The Diamonds.  To close the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen shows, the Thursday evening will celebrate the best new female fronted acts, with sets from indie-darlings Sky Larkin, the genre-defying songwriter and producer MPHO, and young singer-songwriter of the moment, Beth Jeans Houghton.

Levi’s® OnesToWatch® 2009 closing party will conclude the Revue at Cargo, Rivington Street on Friday night with a more electronic focus, featuring exclusive, VERY special guests, and live sets from The Whip, Alex Metric, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and Berlin/Londoners Ezra Bang & the Hot Machine. November’s 5 Night Revue is the finale event of a busy Levi’s® OnesToWatch® 2009 tour which has featured a stellar roll call of entertainers on its stage putting on parties for thousands of grateful fans.

Residencies in March and April kicked off the year (Rogues, The Temper Trap, Heartbreak) as well as a special set from White Lies to celebrate the opening of a new flagship store on Carnaby Street.  The tour headed to Brighton in May for The Great Escape Festival, and put on the must-see gig of the festival with a secret set by Babyshambles. Other bands that graced the Levi’s® stage included Black Lips, The Soft Pack and Mika Miko.

The first 5 Night Revue in July featured Hockey, Passion Pit, Dananananaykroyd and many others before September and October residencies involving likes of Kurran & The Wolfnotes,  Exlovers, The Antlers, and Example.

Cherbourg (Andrew Davie Solo)

Considered to be one of the front runners of the new folk scene, alongside the likes of Noah and the Whale and Laura Marling, Andrew Davie (lead singer and songwriter of cult folk act, Cherbourg) has gained a dedicated following with his Arcade Fire-esque musings.  With his much-hyped debut album rumoured to be out next year, and a furious publishing battle taking place over his songs as we speak, this show will be the one and only chance fans will get to catch Andrew this year.

Crystal Fighters

Crystal Fighters shot to prominence in early 2009, thanks to their thoroughly unique take on the dance genre, which incorporates elements of Basque folk using traditional instruments of the Spanish region.  They quickly captured the attention of BBC Radio 1, XFM, and BBC 6 Music, following the incredible success of debut single ‘Xtatic Truth’, and several high profile remixes by the likes of Radioproof, Maybb, and Magistrates.  Their brand new single ‘I Love London’ will be released on the celebrated electro label Kitsuné this month.

Marina And The Diamonds

With supporters across Radio 1, Radio 2 and 6Music, plus 27 festivals under her belt this summer, 23-year-old songwriter Marina Diamond is currently creating some of the most arresting and original pop music since Kate Bush.  From the heart stoppingly beautiful piano pop of Obsessions to the artful and anarchic sound of the single Mowgli's Road, out this month on 679 Records, Marina’s nagging melodies, unusual harmonies and vivid lyrical imagery come together to make an intense and unique live experience.

Sky Larkin

Often compared to the likes of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and Violent Femmes, Sky Larkin are two girls and a boy from Leeds, who have stayed true to their Indie roots throughout their rapid rise to prominence.  Debut album ‘The Golden Spike’ came out this February to much applause leading to a tour curated by BBC1’s Huw Stephens, a headline European tour, and a heavy-duty schedule at SXSW.  Single ‘Antibodies’ followed, as did shows with The Rakes and Los Campesinos, and appearances at Truck, Latitite and Dour festivals.

Goldheart Assembly

London-based six-piece Goldheart Assembly only formed at the end of 2008, but already have enough accomplished folk-pop hooks to put most veteran bands to shame.   The band met while working as zookeepers, and record their work in a disused steam train museum in Norfolk.

Violens

New York quartet Violens (pronounced “Vy-lenz”) released their limited edition 7” Lightening Lightening through Chess Club Records in May, and have recently toured with the likes of School Of Seven Bells, Hatcham Social and MGMT.  In the States the band have toured with Grizzly Bear, Chairlift and Jay Reatard amongst others.  A band on the brink of making an unmistakable impact, they boast the kind of songwriting ability that captures hearts from the first listen, with songs full of bouncy riffs, horn synths, and pulsing, muted guitars.  The band will support White Lies this month at their sold out Brixton show.

Wolf Gang

Masterminded by 22 year old Max McElligott, whose musical influences range from Supertramp, to Roxy Music and David Byrne, Wolfgang release their limited edition 7” single ‘The King And All Of His Men’ this month on new label Hit Club, complete with remixes from Hot Chip, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. Sounding like MGMT fronted by Bryan Ferry, ‘The King & All of His Men’ is an instant modern classic, full of opulent sounds and pure, melodic rock energy.

MPHO

Genre-defying singer, songwriter and producer MPHO released her debut album Pop Art on Parlophone in October, an album which although brimming with the anything-goes aesthetic of OutCast, the effervescence of TLC, and the risk-taking of Prince, is still proudly and undeniably, a pop record. The South Londoner who was born in South Africa has worked with the likes of producer Switch (M.I.A) Alan Nglish and Anonymous, and boasts a CV that includes stints as backing singer for the likes of Natasha Bedingfield and Ms Dynamite, as well as mentor for pre-fame Adele.

Young Rebel Set

A soulful indie-folk seven piece from Stockton-on-Tees, promise a bright future with their their full-blooded, life-affirming songs that offer a nod to Dylan and Springsteen, but are distinctively North-Eastern.  A bunch of school friends, including two sets of brothers, whose music reflects their love of Johnny Cash, The Pogues and Dexy’s Midnight Runners.  The band released their debut single ‘If I Was’ through their own label ‘Our Broadcast’ in August on limited edition 7” and download.

Wild Palms

London band Wild Palms are a unique and refreshing four piece who work out of a studio they built themselves from scratch, and are heavily inspired by their love of art.  Resident artist Darrell adds another dimension to their work by creating merchandise, packaging, and their distinctive canvass backdrop which they take everywhere they play.  Their debut single “Overtime” is released this month on Popular Recordings.

Clock Opera

London production maestro Clock Opera (AKA Guy Connelly) releases his first single “White Noise”on Pure Groove this month, a choir of jittering half-dismantled machines with soaring vocals that unfurl into a vivid, life-affirming pop masterpiece. The signature Clock Opera sound is spliced together from homemade samples and blunt instruments found in skips to produce ethereal compositions that have been sending ripples through the blogosphere.  As well as remixing the likes of Bloc Party, Yeasayer and Peter, Bjorn & John, Connelly has also found the time to collaborate on a short film with Flat-e Visual Arts Collective and compose electro-orchestral scores and soundtracks for Rambert Dance Company & Tangled Feet Theatre.

Beth Jeans Houghton

This year’s most hotly tipped new singer-songwriter, Beth Jeans Houghton is a quirky 19 year old with a big voice.  She stepped in for The Horrors at the last minute at the End Of The Road festival and wowed the crowd with an unforgettable set.  Her latest EP “Hot Toast” was released in September on Static Caravan, and she is currently writing her album, produced by Ben Hillier (Doves, Elbow, Blur).

The Whip

Sounding like half man, half machine, The Whip are the meeting point between Daft Punk and Joy Division.  Debut album ‘X Marks Destination’ was released on Southern Fried Records in March ’08 and two worldwide tours soon followed, culminating in a show on The Other Stage at Glastonbury 2009.  The band are currently writing and recording their new album to be released on Southern Fried in early 2010.

Alex Metric

His genre-hopping sound - which the man himself describes as 'less of a steady build... more of a really unsafe rollercoaster' - has graced the sound systems of many major clubs in the world over recent years, and this gig will witness his live act featuring the reddest of red keytars, a treasure which Alex somehow managed to free from the clutches of a flea-infested junk shop in deepest, darkest L.A.

Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs

Like Hot Chip gone funny in the sun, the TEED sound is a playful electro underpinned by seismic bass lines, an unpredictable and irresistible '80s-raping squelch of ideas. Part of the Greco sound system stable of progressive artists (that include likes of Drums of Death and David E Sugar), but with added visual entrainment. He's a dinosaur.

Ezra Bang & Hot Machine

A five member boy-girl collective who utilize an array of samples, vintage synthesizers and distortion pedals to make what the band have dubbed "guerilla funk". Led by Ezra, the New York-born grandson of a Pentecostal bishop, their live shows venture from the sublime to the downright riotous, bringing them to the attention of Public Enemy, who invited the band to support them on tour, the band are currently making the transition from a shambolic East London spectacle, to a muscular, precision outfit.  New single ‘Royal Bloodline’ is currently being recorded with Howard Gray (The Cure).

Sweet As A Nut (DJ set)

Sweet as a nut: conceived in Hayes, nurtured in Brighton.  Laura and Bell have been stealing from the record label rich to give to the dance floor poor for a good 3 years.
