David's Lyre : Masked troubadour, David's Lyre is, like his semi-hidden aesthetic, somewhat of a mystery at present. Although if fairness exists in the world at all...
Frankie & The Heartstrings : Interview : Sometimes, (not often mind), you go to see a band with a vague sense of expectation, born from nothing more than early releases and odd pieces of press, only for, by some twist of fate, this band you considered “fairly decent” until now to prove one of the...

Esser: 'Satisfied'

Esser: Satisfied

Highly unusual, but equally highly entertaining, is Esser’s new single – ‘Satisfied’. The alternative pop act has created a catchy, dark sounding track that starts off like something out of the Adam’s Family. As the piano sound rolls in to start the song, a Ska-like rhythm is adopted before Esser coolly glides over with a quiet, reflective voice. “You know it’s hard to please a woman, She’ll put you on your knees and make you cry” enthuses the London act, clearly ready to tell a story of personal experience.

The creepy, demonic like music compliments the lyrics that Esser spells out as it creates a picture of a character that can never please his partner, ie. “She’s never satisfied, however hard I try.” The track is an entertaining piece that is strangely attractively weird, giving somebody who has never had the pleasure of hearing Esser before a pleasant surprise. The single, which came out on November 17, is available to download from iTunes or 7” Vinyl from Pure Grove or HMV. It is different to say the least; something that it seems everybody is striving for at this time.
