Biffy Clyro : 'Many Of Horror (When We Collide)'

Released: 18th January 2010
Label: 14th Floor Records
When Biffy Clyro finally stepped into the deserved limelight with Puzzle, they followed it with the choicest releases from that album – five of them in fact. It seemed a bit over-zealous, and that comes from making an album full of potentially releasable singles.
With Many Of Horror the third single from Only Revolutions, they seem to have been caught up in their own success. This song, besides being a weak attempt at a rock power ballad, with full symphonic effect – a trope they usually pull off with aplomb (diehard Clyro fans, see what I did there) – but wrong for Simon Neill’s husky and pounding vocals. It sounds like they are trying to emulate their Scottish compatriots and heroes of the indie world, Idlewild. They should stick to the rock, because this comes up wanting.
