Acoustic Ladyland live in concert
support from The Invisible + Grasscut
Celebrating the album launch of ‘Living With A Tiger’
July 9th – Cargo, London

Much has happened to Acoustic Ladyland since we last heard from them in December 2006 when the widely acclaimed Skinny Grin was released. Now Acoustic Ladyland present their latest work, Living With A Tiger live at Cargo on July 9th 2009. Recent album debutees The Invisible and the dashing and daring Grasscut beautifully edge this evening into an absolute must see gig from start to finish.
After a period of reassessment and change in band personnel, this fresh incarnation of Acoustic Ladyland sets the bar even higher than before and has arguably achieved their most potent and lucid album to date. Recorded once again by production genius Robert Harder, the music on this expansive and soul-searching album is influenced as much by Dr.Dre, Giggs, JME and Biggie Smalls as Bowie, Deerhoof and The Dead Kennedys.
Hardcore elements still very much prevail, whilst hip- hop and grime become a clearer influence on most cuts and Wareham’s blowing is furious and mellifluous in equal measure. A combination which enables Living With A Tiger to be an outrageously wonderful body of work. However, to witness Acoustic Ladyland playing live right now is to witness something monumental. The rhythm section of Ruth and Seb clearly enjoy every single second and lock everything down, whilst Sharkey and Wareham cut, thrust and goad each other to push ever further at their boundaries.
